It's always strange when you make eva characters look more reality based, it makes them less appealing and harder to take seriously. I'm glad that don't make a live action version of evangelion, but it is interesting to see it in pics now and then.

Nah, I think it's an interestiong character archetype, (She's still a badass spaceship captain on a glorious revenge trip - Probably quite an inspiring boss to work under unless your name is Shinji. Still has her old crazy creative reckless plans, too. ) one there's fairly few female versions of, but I guess it's very, very different from the appeal of classic!Misato. I just can't get over the fact that she used to be... well, Misato.

But ppl, she's still, as she has always been, one of the few ppl in that crapsack world who are genuinely working towards saving it´untill the end, much like in EoE.
She's an unforgivable ass *to Shinji*, allright, far beyond what would have been necessary for and even counterproductive to preventing further impacts, but it's a bit more complicated than "She's just an asshole". She's essentially a victim of the grueling post TI world.

Personally I think she's like this with the sole reason to screw Shinji. I found pretty much everything about 3.0 to be a one sided screw to Shinji. I just can't find it artistic, deep or even good story wise this time, it seems more like Anno has a grudge against the guy.
One of the many things I looked foward to in 3.0 was a confrontation between Misato and Gendo, where she pulls her gun out while saying " how can you deceive us like that" or something along those lines.
It sucks that their confrontation(if there is one at all) will most likely be a short, silent staring contest, where Misato and Gendo battle it out through the veiw screen of her Eva powered flying machine, for the title of easiest to animate.
