I am not an artist, I can't draw at all, and I can't give technical advice. I'll say that she's recognizable, though, and that's better than I could do.

As for the shading effect... in the picture it looks extreme, but if everything in the scene you draw is done like that, it might emphasize the harsh lighting and work, visually speaking.

Yeah, 'looks like Vision' seems to be the local meme around here ^_^ I'm using paint.net for windows. It's a freeware DL.

I said in OP that she's under fluorescent lights in this scene, but I've decided to make the scene dark and lit only by the window which is covered with blinds. When I assemble the final page, I'm gonna have to run horizontal lines across her face to mimic the shadows of the blinds.

Here is my first doujin page done with the new computer shading. A scene between Ritsuko and Gendo. Usually the scenes will not be this dark, so if it doesn't completely work, I'm not totally screwed.

The problem with the shading here isn't so much that you shaded the face too much, but that the rest (hair, clothes) isn't shaded just as much, making it stand out.
That's the crux with shading - you can easily do a page without it, and it looks great. But once you shade a single thing, you have to shade everything else accordingly too, otherwise you have something with depth in a flat surrounding.

Ok, I use that too :)if you set the layer with your lineart on to multiply and make another layer underneath it and paint on that you'll avoid those nasty-looking white bits around your lines.

Would a fourteen-year-old Revy go for Shinji? Probably not, but mainly because adult Revy doesn't seem to have much in the way of a normal adult libido either. Adult Revy gets off on killing people, and that's about it. She seems to be able to tolerate Rock and the rest, and she seems protective of Rock in a big sister/tsundere kind of way, but... "normal" sexuality does not appear to be part of her software.
